ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This was a remedial building project for a Strata Manager we have had a long association with.
The four level apartment building had been constructed with defective metal corner profiles to finish the cement render to on the balcony edges.  These rust and force the cement render away from the brickwork and this allows water to enter and damage the paintwork.
The Structural Engineer’s scope of works called for the removal and replacement of the cement render throughout, with the use of an appropriate corner profile.
Our excellent Cement Render tradespeople were able to detail the corners without any profile required (as we used to do before these aids were available) so the issue would never again blight this building.
A case of good quality workmanship delivered in a timely, considered manner overcoming the rush to complete works in ridiculous timeframe as we find in many apartment projects now.

WORKS IN PROGRESS

The entire building required scaffold access. This limited the disruption to the residents as we were able to access the balconies from outside at any time, and could seal-off their doors to prevent dust entry.

Once the rendering was complete the exterior painting of these repaired walls was undertaken, in a high build finish to ensure the surfaces looked uniform.

WORKS COMPLETE

The Site Foreman also ensured the gardens at the base of the building were protected during works so they would not suffer plant losses as a result of our activities over a 10 week program.

When the project was handed over both the Strata Manager and Owners Corporation Committee members expressed complete satisfaction with the finishes and the way the works were managed.
